A checkout takes two things: you need to know which segments to throw, and you need to hit them. There are separate exercises for both.
Learning routes without a board

- The score you're meant to check out.
- Your route, entered dart by dart.
- The verdict with the reasons and the best routes.
- You see a rest and tap in how you would check it out – dart by dart, without a board.
- Free: you have three darts. With “1, 2 or 3 darts left” you must manage with that many darts.
- Timed: solve as many rests as you can in 2 minutes.
- Your route is rated optimal, possible but unfavourable, or wrong – with the reason and the best routes.
Checkout of the day
- Every day there are five new rests between 41 and 170 – the same for every player.
- Solve them in the quiz or throw them at the board: you get one visit of three darts per rest.
- Solve all five on consecutive days to extend your streak.
Checkout album

- How many finishes you've collected so far.
- Scores you've checked out are marked in green. Scores that can't be finished with double out at all are marked separately.
- The album is a grid of every rest from 2 to 170.
- Every rest you checked out in a double-out X01 leg or in a checkout training (121 Checkout, Catch 40, Random Checkout, 41–60 Finishing, 170 checkout practice) is unlocked with the date of the first time.
- Only finishes where the rest before the last visit is known count. Bot players and imported results don't count.
- For free the album shows the results of the last 30 days, with Pro your whole history.
At the board: from small to large
Start with small scores. They come up most often in a game and are the easiest to practise.
| Exercise | Scores | Darts |
|---|---|---|
| 41–60 Finishing | 41 to 60 | 3, 6 or 9 per score |
| Catch 40 | 61 to 100 | 6 per score |
| Random Checkout | freely chosen from 2 to 170 | 3, 6 or 9 per score |
| 121 Checkout | from 121, rising with every success | 9 per attempt |
| 170 checkout practice | 170, 167, 164, 161 or 160 | 6, 9 or 12 per attempt |
41–60 Finishing
- You play every score from 41 to 60 once, in order or in random order.
- You have 3, 6 or 9 darts per score. You finish on a double or the bull.
- Points: finish in the first visit = 3 points, in the second = 2, in the third = 1, no finish = 0.
- If you bust, the visit doesn't count and you carry on from the score before it – just like in a match.
Catch 40
- The first target is 61, then you work up one by one to 100.
- You have at most 6 darts per number, i.e. two visits. You must finish on a double or the bull.
- Points: finish in 2 darts = 3 points, in 3 darts = 2 points, in 4 to 6 darts = 1 point, no finish = 0 points.
- If you bust (below 0, 1 left or 0 without a double), the number ends with 0 points.
Random Checkout
- Random: every attempt brings a new, randomly drawn score. You have 3, 6 or 9 darts per score.
- Ladder: you start at the lowest score of your ranges. A checkout takes you one rung up, a miss one rung down – never below the start.
- Race: everyone plays the same drawn scores one after another, each until it is checked out. Whoever gets through with the fewest darts wins.
- You finish on a double or the bull. If you bust, the visit doesn't count and you carry on from the score before it.
121 Checkout
- You start with a target of 121 and have 9 darts (3 visits) to check it out on a double or the bull.
- Normal bust rules apply: below 0, exactly 1 left or 0 without a double is a bust and the visit does not count.
- If you check out, your next target is one higher (122, 123, …).
- If you fail, the target drops by one – but never below 121.
170 checkout practice
- Choose your fixed score: 170, 167, 164, 161 or 160. Every attempt starts again at this score.
- You have 6, 9 or 12 darts per attempt, i.e. two, three or four visits. You finish on a double or the bull.
- Points: a finish in the first visit earns as many points as the limit has visits (3 with 9 darts), each later visit one point less. No finish = 0 points.
- If you bust, the visit doesn't count and you carry on from the score before it. The visit is still used up.
In all checkout exercises at the board, the app shows the checkout routes as in a game. Turn them off in the settings if you want to test yourself.
